Philosophy of education

So the other day, I went and met Peter Terry of the Boston Learning Center. In my application for employment for a few hours of pro bono work, I had to write a short essay on "Philisophy of education". The following is my submission

I look back and wonder where I would be if my family did not have the means or the resources to educate me. Would I be living in abject poverty? or would I be a little better off and be one one of those dropouts who became a millionaire? Upon analysis, I realise, education is not only a factor that influences a rags or riches story, but also has a lot more to it.

Education does not mean appending a list of degrees to your name, but it is the practical application of learning which makes a person educated. Rationality, common sense and modern outlook are the results of an input called education. These things broaden your outlook, make differentiation by caste, creed, color or religion look passe, and open you up to a far greater good called humanity.

The best thing anyone could do with education is spread it. Being literate and application of literacy for the benefit of the underpriviledged makes a person truly learned. It is one of this things which makes a homo sapien, a human being.

Dedications: To all those who tried to pull my leg over my intention to work for the BLC. I wish you more luck next time. Also, the people who turned up in boston and made my weekend enjoyable viz. Abhi, Ashish, Rohan, Sara. Thanks for coming here.

Realisation: I still need to improve my writing / vocabulary and what not. I need to improve my english by atleast 50% more to be comprehensible.

Saying of the day: Attitude, not aptitude, determines your altitude.

Time .. Samay ... Kaal ...

Happy and in love
I am with you
life right now
is nothing but true.

life goes on
and things go bad
times with you
were best I had

the moments are gone
and does time fly
all I can do
is sit back and cry.

how much i love
realise one day
get her back
to myself I say

I make an attempt
to set things right
earlier twas easy
now its a big fight.

shudve acted fast
i feel like a retard
getting you back
was a bit hard

just this time
lucky was I
just one way
does time fly

Saying of the day:

bamb phate
log mar gaye
koi gal nahin yaar
pandhra aur paida hue

start ...

early morning
standing for the bus
reading in wall street
the downfall of
credit suisse

bored by the news
i glance around
stunned and dazed
am stuck aground

listen to music
in her hand a book
there she stands
with a desi look

inch by inch
i shuffle my feet
gathering guts
to go up and greet

word by word
line by line
the hello becomes
a conversation divine

destiny shines
the bus is late
for once in life
dint bitch about the wait

talking to strangers
one of the arts
precisely how
a friendship starts
