Time .. Samay ... Kaal ...

So, here is another of my thought process which I am going to pen down. I, totally believe in the importance of time. Right decisions are good, but if the timings all wrong, then they dont really seem that right.

So, here is an example. For the last 2 months I have been really following the stock market. I followed the Anheuser-Busch InBev takeover, to the proposed takeover of Genentech by Roche. Honestly speaking, when it was announced of a possible takeover by InBev, I was totally was like 'I have to get some of that stock'. The prevailing market price at that point was $62.

I did not act. I waited, mulled, cribbed and basically lost critical time. When, the acquisition actually took place, InBev paid $70 per share. Thats like a return of more than 10% per share. Just to give the readers an idea, the CD returns are 4% and the savings account interest rate is around 2%. Genentech was a similar story, it announced Q2 profit, the stocks were stable. Then, Roche announced a possible takeover, the stocks jumped 10%.

The thing to realise for this post is not the fluctuation in the the stock market. Its just, timing matters, in all respects of life. Say, things get messed up between people. If you just sit and watch, and wait for a particular time to make amends, its quite possible you will wait all your life, and at a critical juncture realise, oops am too late. Its like a ship, heading into a storm. The decision to turn back has to be on time.

You dont sit and watch your house burning down, do you? You act. You call the fire department just in time, and salvage the remains.

Considering we are so prompt with materialistic possessions, its hard to imagine, we are so inconsistent with our approach for intangible things;things which undoubtedly are the most important. If your feelings really strong, its absolutely essential to just act on it. Please don't waste critical moments. The problem with time is, the flights are one way, it never ever comes back.

Happy and in love
I am with you
life right now
is nothing but true.

life goes on
and things go bad
times with you
were best I had

the moments are gone
and does time fly
all I can do
is sit back and cry.

how much i love
realise one day
get her back
to myself I say

I make an attempt
to set things right
earlier twas easy
now its a big fight.

shudve acted fast
i feel like a retard
getting you back
was a bit hard

just this time
lucky was I
just one way
does time fly

A sensitive poem with an insensitive thought of the day...

But yes good writing...you should blog more often... This poetry is a good insight into another of your " skills".

Seems like you are trying to follow your intuition over rational mind which is little odd considering your views on living the life I heard from you. Let's see who is winning in coming season!

Ps: your thought of day is not at all consistent with your blog posts. It's something more than simple maths when it comes to "life".

@abhishek: I honestly wanted to remove the though of the day, I could not as people have commented on it. "skills", is something which i would like you to clarify. Thanks, Ill try to blog as much as I can.

@samir: Its not purely intuition. It is intuition based on some previous statistic. Rational thinking does involve a part of intuition. And, definitely acting at the right time, is rationality.

My apologies for the saying of the day. It may not reflect my own views. I appreciate you pointing out the difference in simple math and "life"

@everyone: My apologies for the insensitivity in the saying of the day. And, looks like I have some dedicated readers. Yayy !!

Everyone has his own way of thinking. Just dont let any criticism come in way of your creativity.Your apology for that comment was redundant and not called for....

Well the thought of the day doesnt even qualify to be black humor..Its no where a take on growing population..Its being insensitive towards innocent lives getting killed , and that new borns just replace them!

@ sumeet
When you would lose a close one, I shall love to see your creativity Mr.
