Actually, this blog is probably going to be totally random and am just going to pen down whatever I am thinking right now.

So I realize, I use the word probably many times; like always. I think, am I indecisive? or do I just say probably to take into account that for something to be definite, the probability has to be one or zero. But then, nothing is 100% true. So, probably the later use is pretty much true for me. There I go again, probably!

Whoa, that was random. It’s like am writing anything and everything that on my mind. Random eh? Is there anything out there which is random? Probably not. I mean in computer science, you have an algorithm to generate random numbers. A definite algorithm which produces a random result. Strange, isn’t it? So, back in Stone Age, the occurrence of most causes of death was random, or so called random. These days, researchers try to tie in genetic alterations, pathway analysis, preclinical research and what not, to understand this so called randomness. My take: lack or knowledge, awareness make things look random. I mean, look at it, people who can’t read English, may think this blog is full of random strange looking pictures (alphabets). That’s something to think about.

This blog is confusing. Confusion eh? What is that? Randomness. But then again, if randomness is the lack of awareness, then confusion is a lack of orderliness. Thoughts flying in and out without a sequence without any co-relation with one another.. I need to go and play frisbee right now, so will continue this later.

So, am back trying to get into the confusion mode which I was trying to write about 2 days back. It’s pretty difficult to get into the same random though process as before. So, am literally thinking right now to continue the random post or, write some comprehensible stuff. Keep in mind, am typing as things get into my mind. This is pretty difficult, because all the time, I am getting though which do not exactly co-relate to the blog. So, is that confusion? Or just a lack of concentration. No idea, if you ask me.

Blank. This was exactly the state of my mind a moment after I typed the last statement. And then I go, what next. I cannot imagine, I am putting up 2 minutes of my thought process on to the World Wide Web and expect people to read it. But in the back of my mind I know, they will.

This is enough, my 2 cents after a long hiatus may make people feel I have lost my marbles. I promise people, my next blog will be much more comprehensible, with probably a mushy poem thrown in. So, that’s it for today, do have a great day.

Adios

Saying of the day: Photo sathi, aho, punha ekda.

Realisation: Need to write more comprehensible stuff often. Also, need to step on the pro bono things I keep talking about.

Dedications: Myself and my mind in the state of confusion.

A Process ... ?

A creation of a new post on my blog generally represents a series of events which provoke me to write. The event which provoked me to write today, was my roomies Sumit Sharma's blog (www.doctorsumeet.blogspot.com).

Let me tell you a little bit about sumeet. A a dentist by profession, a student at the Tufts dental school, the class president, scoring excellent grades, sumit is one of those persons who has achieved a lot in life.

So why am I writing about him ?

A glance into his latest blog reveals a amazing phenomenon called as a pseudo personality. He writes about ways to achieve things in life, to be spontaneous, be accountable and responsible. But is he ? Hell no!

Before anyone out there gets me wrong, let me clarify that this entry is not about slandering, no personal issues, no venting of anger. This is about being responsible and accountable.

So, the other day I lost my cool. Vessels were lying unwashed in the sink for days, and as always nobody had used them. My inference: The dishes at my house like to go for a walk. Once they are bored, they dirty themselves and sit in the sink. The result? I yelled at the utensils, not, but my roomies, too bad.

So, this is where sumit hogs the limelight. Another unique thing about this person, is total denial.

Eg.
Tarang: Sumit is there a possibility of this unwashed mug being yours?
Sumit: Hell NO !!!! I always wash everything on time.
Shreyas: Yesterday night around 11 pm you drank tea. This is from yesterday night.
Sumit: Ohh, I thought this is from the day before, so I denied.

Like, total lame excuse. But again, its not about sumit. It about all of us (Yes, me included*) who do not give a moments thought for being responsible and yeah, accountable. So, after another bout of yelling, one of my roomies# had the gall to tell me

"Cleaning up after yourself is a process. It wont be achieved overnight."

A process ? Accepting responsibility for your action is a process ? Where the hell was I when they taught this in school ? Or maybe they taught the opposite, so where were you ?

I totally accept that sometimes time, attitude, the environment are legit reasons to procrastinate. But the fact here is to understand, that you share the house with roomies, the surroundings with your neighbors, and the environment with a million others. If each person does his own part, accepts responsibility for actions, he will be a factor for not causing disharmony, but a brick which paves the path of a perfectly symbiotic relationship.

I want to write more, but, I got an unwashed mug in the sink. Let me practice what I preach, let me go and wash it.

* During the discussion, it was agreed upon that as there are 4 of us, each had a 25% chance of not being responsible for mugs / dishes etc.

# Shreyas Phadnis

Saying of the day: I believe in oneness of GOD. Some places they call him Jesus, in others Allah. In India its generally Bhagwaan, but he may be also synonymous with Shahrukh Khan.

Realisation: Nth time I realise, I need to step up on my writing and language skills.

Dedications / Apologies: Sumit: No hard feelings dude. And, I don't moderate my comments so feel free to post your views.

Philosophy of education

So the other day, I went and met Peter Terry of the Boston Learning Center. In my application for employment for a few hours of pro bono work, I had to write a short essay on "Philisophy of education". The following is my submission

I look back and wonder where I would be if my family did not have the means or the resources to educate me. Would I be living in abject poverty? or would I be a little better off and be one one of those dropouts who became a millionaire? Upon analysis, I realise, education is not only a factor that influences a rags or riches story, but also has a lot more to it.

Education does not mean appending a list of degrees to your name, but it is the practical application of learning which makes a person educated. Rationality, common sense and modern outlook are the results of an input called education. These things broaden your outlook, make differentiation by caste, creed, color or religion look passe, and open you up to a far greater good called humanity.

The best thing anyone could do with education is spread it. Being literate and application of literacy for the benefit of the underpriviledged makes a person truly learned. It is one of this things which makes a homo sapien, a human being.

Dedications: To all those who tried to pull my leg over my intention to work for the BLC. I wish you more luck next time. Also, the people who turned up in boston and made my weekend enjoyable viz. Abhi, Ashish, Rohan, Sara. Thanks for coming here.

Realisation: I still need to improve my writing / vocabulary and what not. I need to improve my english by atleast 50% more to be comprehensible.

Saying of the day: Attitude, not aptitude, determines your altitude.

Time .. Samay ... Kaal ...

So, here is another of my thought process which I am going to pen down. I, totally believe in the importance of time. Right decisions are good, but if the timings all wrong, then they dont really seem that right.

So, here is an example. For the last 2 months I have been really following the stock market. I followed the Anheuser-Busch InBev takeover, to the proposed takeover of Genentech by Roche. Honestly speaking, when it was announced of a possible takeover by InBev, I was totally was like 'I have to get some of that stock'. The prevailing market price at that point was $62.

I did not act. I waited, mulled, cribbed and basically lost critical time. When, the acquisition actually took place, InBev paid $70 per share. Thats like a return of more than 10% per share. Just to give the readers an idea, the CD returns are 4% and the savings account interest rate is around 2%. Genentech was a similar story, it announced Q2 profit, the stocks were stable. Then, Roche announced a possible takeover, the stocks jumped 10%.

The thing to realise for this post is not the fluctuation in the the stock market. Its just, timing matters, in all respects of life. Say, things get messed up between people. If you just sit and watch, and wait for a particular time to make amends, its quite possible you will wait all your life, and at a critical juncture realise, oops am too late. Its like a ship, heading into a storm. The decision to turn back has to be on time.

You dont sit and watch your house burning down, do you? You act. You call the fire department just in time, and salvage the remains.

Considering we are so prompt with materialistic possessions, its hard to imagine, we are so inconsistent with our approach for intangible things;things which undoubtedly are the most important. If your feelings really strong, its absolutely essential to just act on it. Please don't waste critical moments. The problem with time is, the flights are one way, it never ever comes back.

Happy and in love
I am with you
life right now
is nothing but true.

life goes on
and things go bad
times with you
were best I had

the moments are gone
and does time fly
all I can do
is sit back and cry.

how much i love
realise one day
get her back
to myself I say

I make an attempt
to set things right
earlier twas easy
now its a big fight.

shudve acted fast
i feel like a retard
getting you back
was a bit hard

just this time
lucky was I
just one way
does time fly

Dedications: To people who read my not too bad blogs, and check back for latest stuff.

Realisations: I really need to step up on my blog writing skills. I dont think am too consistent. I need to link, and comment on other peoples blogs. Aarghhh.

Saying of the day:

bamb phate
log mar gaye
koi gal nahin yaar
pandhra aur paida hue

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://psoriatickhaaz.blogspot.com/2008/07/time-samay-kaal.html' title='Time .. sounds like a case of, well ill leave that to your imagination, but for me, its a desire to do something, a compulsive obsession to get better, excel and go atop the ladder. and how? an itch, to try something new, untried before, like dirtying hands over anything and everything that's out there, taking risks, calculated may be uncalculated but whatever may be the case, just going for it with heart n soul, never thinking about failures, thats enough, the patience is over and so is the vocabulary. but, point conveyed, hopefully.

the last point just made me realise, i gave up on the patience and the vocabulary, may be just maybe the khaaz isn't all that severe, but just for today. well its important to be pragmatic, the more the philosophy, the less the readership, that explains.

te blogs getting confusing by the minute, ans thats solely because, my roommates are just NOT letting me concentrate. so, am ending it here, a few lines of text as a contribution to the vast amounts of data on the web

next time, the itch is going to be severe, I sense an urgent need of improvement, bottomline - the more you try, the more you realise how little you can do

Dedications: To all my friends who believe I can generate stories out of thin air.
Disclaimer: The writer cannot be held responsible if the reader cannot understand the blog.

Saying of the day: Ardha junk aahe, pause, actually akkhach junk ahe
